RTX 9th Anniversary Show - October 15, 2016:

We open up the show with a video package showing various great moments throughout RTX's history, specifically highlighting the first PPV, Desecration, back in October of 2007. We open up with the Divas' Tag Team title match, with interviews from each team being shown.

Divas' Tag Team Championship:
Sugar & Spice (Max Black & Caroline Channing) defeated The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky & Angelina Love), No Remorse Corps (Shandi Essick & Candice LeRae), Victoria Muharsky & Madison Rayne, and Gail Kim & Amber Gallows:
Caroline's facebuster on Shandi
Riot was forced to wrestle alone due to Danger choosing not to team with her. In fact, Danger attacked Riot en route to the ring, and Danger dropped her off the stage! It was actually Max and Caroline who fought Danger off, but not before they were attacked from behind by the Beautiful People. Action with the three remaining teams went on for minutes until Velvet Sky pinned Amber Gallows after an In Yo' Face, eliminating Gail and Amber. Gail was not happy and attacked Sky with one of the championship belts. Victoria tried to roll up a distracted Angelina, but Shandi flew off the top and performed a moonsault on Victoria. Shandi hits a Pedigree on Victoria and pins her to eliminate her team. Shandi showboats about getting the pin and turns only to be planted with a facebuster by Caroline. Caroline pins Shandi to eliminate the NRC. Finally it was down to The Beautiful People and Sugar & Spice. An amazing corkscrew dive over the top by Caroline onto Velvet outside, leaving Max alone with Angelina. Angelina tried the Botox Injection, but Max catches her with a cradle suplex. Max then hits the Fade to Black tombstone piledriver on Angelina and pins her to eliminate the Beautiful People and become the first Divas' Tag Team champions.

Number One Contenders to the Tag Titles
The Wolves defeated The Young Bucks:
Eddie & Davey won a title match by besting the Bucks

This was Davey Richards' first match back since a severe concussion (sustained at World on Fire) put him out of action. Bear and Tiger came out with the Wolves just in case there was any interference by the Bullet Club. And for most of the match, there wasn't. At one point, the crowd was amazed to see all four men superkick each other at once. Nick managed to recover first and perform his signature slingshot facebuster from the apron on Davey. Nick turned into a sick-looking powerbomb by Eddie, who was in turn slapped with a running kick by Matt. Nick and Matt attempt stereo 450 splashes on the Wolves, who move and respond with stereo Falcon Arrows on the Bucks. As the Wolves set up the double stomp combo, Adam Cole and Adam Page run out. The Wolves hit the Bucks with the stomps as Bear and Tiger battle with Page and Cole outside the ring. When Page and Cole break away from Bear and Tiger, Matt uses the ropes to pin Eddie but Bear pushes his foot off. Matt turns around and yells at Bear, who superman punches him as Tiger takes the attention of the referee. Matt stumbles around into the Boston Knee Party by Eddie. Eddie pins Matt and the Wolves earn a title shot.

Number One Contender to the RTX Title:
Kevin Owens defeated Austin Aries, Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly:
Kevin Owens now has a World Title Match at Over the Limit
Owens had recently debuted on RTX television, and made it very apparent that he was here ONLY to be the "king of the mountain", challenging Chris Sky or Bear to a title match. Instead, he was put in this match against the other 3 top contenders to earn his right. As Chris told him, "You aren't handed title shots here like in WWE. Here, you earn your place at the top". During this match Aries and Strong (who've teamed on and off since 2005) double teamed O'Reilly as Owens watched from the floor. At one point, Aries and Strong were arguing over who would pin O'Reilly as Chris Sky grabbed Owens and threw him back in the ring. Aries went after Owens, quickly trying to roll up him but Owens kicked out. Strong and O'Reilly battled to the floor where Strong responded to O'Reilly's kicks and knees with a backbreaker on the apron. Owens hit Aries with repeated powerbombs in the ring before throwing him outside onto Strong. All four men battled on the floor until Owens hit a pop-up powerbomb on Aries into the barrier. O'Reilly flew off the apron with a dropkick on Owens. Back in the ring, Strong seizes advantage with the Sick Kick on O'Reilly for 2. As Strong tries the Death by Roderick, Owens slips in with a forearm to the gut of Strong. Adam Page attacks O'Reilly outside as Owens hits the pop-up powerbomb on Strong back in the ring. Instead of going for the pin, Owens hits another pop-up powerbomb. Going back to his ROH arsenal, Owens makes Strong submit to a sharpshooter to win the title match. Afterwards he and Chris have a stare down.

Ladder War for the RTX World Tag Team Championship:
America's Most Wanted (James Storm & Chris Harris) defeated The Broken Hardyz (Matt Hardy & Brother Nero), The Naturals (Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas), and Chris Sky & Hiroshi Tanahashi:
This was the Ace's first RTX match
AMW won their 1st titles
It was one of the most anticipated matches in RTX history: the first ever Ladder War between four of RTX's top teams. Since Sami Zayn wasn't medically cleared to compete, "The Ace" of Japan, Hiroshi Tanahashi, took his place. From the bell, the match was downright insanity. At one point, The Hardyz toppled a ladder, sending Andy Douglas through another ladder outside the ring. Tanahashi and Sky fought with the Hardyz. Tanahashi and Sky then performed a simultaneous High Fly Flow/ Shooting Star Press onto the Hardyz from the top of ladders. Storm came in with a superkick on Tanahashi as Harris performed a Catatonic slam on Sky through a table outside. Chase Stevens then hit both members of AMW with a double low-blow, then attacked them both with a chair. Tanahashi hits Stevens with a Sling Blade on the floor. Sky and Tanahashi uncover the commentators tables at ringside and lay AMW on them. They climb two 15-foot ladders and dive: Sky with an Air Psycho onto Storm, and Tanahashi with High Fly Flow on Harris, drilling them through the tables and taking all four men out. Back in the ring Matt Hardy drilled Stevens from the top of a ladder with a Twist of Fate and Brother Nero performed a Swanton. As the Hardys attempted to grab the titles, amazingly, Sky and Tanahashi got up, performing stereo springboard dropkicks and knocking over the ladders. Sky then planted Matt Hardy through a table outside, from the apron, with a double arm piledriver. AMW got up as Douglas dropped Tanahashi with a Natural Selection DDT. Harris spears Douglas against a ladder in the corner. Storm then grabs Nero and holds him on a table as Harris climbs a ladder. Storm and Harris hit the Death Sentence driving Nero through the table. With no obstacles to hold them back, Storm and Harris grab the titles and we have new champs!!

RTX Championship Triple Threat:
Bear (c) defeated Adam Cole and Jay Lethal:
Adam Cole superkicking Jay Lethal during the RTX title match

Cole and Lethal's issues in ROH made this one more personal than perhaps many of the matches on the card. Add Bear to the mix and it became an all out war. As you'd expect, Cole and Lethal targeted each other for most of this match. Midway through the match, it cost them, as Bear came outta nowhere and speared them both at the same time! Both kicked out when Bear tried a pin. Bear set up for the superman punch on Cole but Cole ducked and Bear hit Lethal. Cole with the Florida Key German suplex on Bear but Bear kicks out, much to Cole's dismay. Cole goes for the Last Shot (brainbuster on the knee) but Bear reverses and hits the superman punch on Cole. Cole kicks out at 2! Lethal comes back in with Lethal Combination on Bear but again Bear kicks out! Lethal scores with Hail to the King but gets slapped by a superkick from Cole (insert Steve Corino "COOOOOOOOOOOLLLLE!!" lol ;D). Cole again goes for the Last Shot on Bear and hits it! Bear kicks out. Lethal comes back and tries the Lethal Injection on Cole but Cole pulls Bear in the way and Lethal takes out Bear. Cole grabs the RTX title belt and hits Lethal with it. Out come the Young Bucks, per the no disqualification rules of a Triple Threat match. They try to superkick Bear but Bear ducks and the Bucks slap Cole down! Bear attacks the Bucks and slams Nick over the top onto Matt. Bear hits a second Superman punch on Cole and this time is able to pin Cole to retain the title! After the match Cole attacks Bear and wants a rematch at Over the Limit (November 13), but this time Cole says he will put his ROH Championship on the line as well.
