After not competing since last week's Steel Cage Match at Victory Road, the World Tag Team Champions Chris Sky and Bear returned to action this weekend on RTX television against the two men originally scheduled to meet them inside the steel: Edge and Christian. But with tensions boiling between Chris Jericho and The Big Show as well, the six man non-title main event was made: Chris Jericho would team with the World Tag Team Champions to take on the devious team of Edge, Christian, and Big Show.
The face team, Jericho leading the way while Bear posed and Sky did his usual headbang, water-spit thing, came out to a raptutous ovation from the Seattle crowd. The reception for Edge and Christian's team could have been better, though.
As expected, tempers flared and cool was lost more than once during this match, at one point almost costing the faces the match when Jericho's desperation to tell the referee about Big Show nailing Sky from the floor allowed Edge and Christian to double team Sky. With Edge and Christian now guaranteed a Tag Title Match upcoming at Totality next month, they'd keep the title shot regardless of the outcome. So they and the Big Show were not afraid to test the referee's five counts.
When an enraged Bear came into the ring, Christian tried to stop him, but the big man tore through Christian with ease, lifting him up over his head and throwing him all the way outside. Edge took advantage with a roll up on Bear but didn't even come close to a win. He did, however, get up close and personal with Bear's boot when he stood. Bear got in position for his own version of the spear but all hell broke loose among the two teams, and everyone started fighting.
Moments later, when it calmed back down, Sky hit a Swanton onto the Big Show, but was too hurt to go for the pin, so he tagged in Chris Jericho. The referee allowed for Edge to come back in as the Big Show rolled out to the floor. Jericho and Edge began slugging it out in the middle of the ring. Edge blocked a Lionsault and hit the Edgecution for a two count. Edge missed the Spear and Jericho tried to lock on the Walls of Jericho but Edge pushed him into the referee and knocked him down. Christian brings in two chairs and they try the conchairto on Jericho but Bear double clotheslines them. Bear picks up a chair and hits Big Show with it, busting open the behemoth! Sky comes back in with a Lita-style DDT on Christian. Jericho clamps the Walls on Edge once again, and after struggling to reach the ropes, Edge taps out, and Jericho, Sky, and Bear pick up a huge momentous victory heading into the April 5 extravaganza.
